Award: Youth Environmental Excellence

Requirements: As of 2020, people under the age of 40 made up almost 65% of the global population. The world's youth can bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and an inherent understanding of technology and social media. By engaging youth in climate initiatives, we foster a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship, creating a generation that values sustainability over profit and strives for a greener, more resilient planet. Recipients of this award will be high school students that will conduct a project or research that will improve the environmental quality of their community. Examples include, but are not limited to working at a local garden, researching river pollutants, or advocating for the limitation of plastic bags in their municipality. The final deliverable can take the form of an essay, presentation, or demonstration.
