Award: Studying methods and practices of Organic Farming

Requirements: Research, analyze, and write about how organic farming is beneficial for human health in multiple ways, from not ingesting food grown with toxic pesticides and fertilizers, to not breathing polluted air or drinking water containing these toxins. Organic farms and gardens also protect wildlife, especially pollinators, from exposure to poisons sprayed on plants. With the help of local organic farms, local food assistance programs can provide healthy, high quality foods to low income households. Preferred participants will be organic farms adhering to the USDA certified definition of Organic Livestock Producers or Organic Crop Producers.
