Award: Bacteria Sampling in Local Waterways

Requirements: The Bacteria Sampling in Local Waterways Award supports hands-on environmental research on how runoff and land use affect local streams and rivers, contributing to a better understanding of water quality and public health. Requirements for the study include (1) conducting regular water sampling and data collection throughout the academic year, (2) document findings and share updates, (3) create and deliver a presentation to educate local communities, (4) write two articles for publishing by local environmental groups. JFETF reserves the right to publish findings on the JFETF.org website.
